    SMU Medical Robotics Laboratory Introduction:
          Welcome to the Medical Robotics Laboratory at Southern Medical University. This is a research group led by Prof. Sheng Yao at the School of Biomedical Engineering, Southern Medical University(SMU).
          SMU Medical Robotics Laboratory is dedicated to researching and developing robotics systems for automating various medical treatment tasks, particualrly for cell surgery. Our research covers a variety of problems in robotic manipulation, perception, and automation.
          SMU Medical Robotics Laboratory is affiliated with the Digital Diagnosis and Treatment Equipment Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education, the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Medical Image Processing, the Guangdong Provincial Engineering Laboratory of Medical Imaging and Diagnostic Technology. Our laboratory has received funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province, the Science and Technology Program of Guangzhou, and the Medical Scientific Research Foundation of Guangdong Province. Our laboratory has mainly two branches in Guangzhou and Foshan, both cities are located in Guangdong Province, the the Greater Bay Area of China.
          Our laboratory encompasses researchers with expertise in mechatronics, biomedical engineering, and computer science. We sincerely welcome collaboration from all sectors of society to jointly advance the development of medical robotics systems.
